Welcome to Glossbrenner United Methodist Church of Mount Joy where our doors are open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. While we have an incredibly beautiful sanctuary, the church is not the buildings, it is the people. The people of Glossbrenner Church are folks who are striving to be fully devoted disciples of Jesus Christ and to walk with him in every area of our lives.
We are honored to have you here and hope you are blessed by the Spirit at Glossbrenner. To all who enter and take part in our fellowship, we extend a special greeting. It is our sincere desire that you find Christ here, and the warmth of friendship. We hope you’ll find a place where you are warmly welcomed and feel at home even if you’ve never been to church before.
“At Glossbrenner we welcome children to worship with us: a children’s message is shared in worship every week, so please feel free to enjoy worshiping with your children. If you prefer, we have volunteers in our church nursery working with children birth through age three. During the regular school season, we also offer a children’s choir for children who like to sing, and a praise dance group for our young ladies too.
Jesus said, “let the little children come to me.” In the Jewish tradition, God’s Covenant was received at the start of life, just eight days after birth, and we encourage children to receive and live in God’s Covenant too, by being baptized as soon as possible, for they are from the start an important part of our fellowship. God loves them and loves us all at the start, not by something that we have done, but out of the generosity of God’s heart. Such generosity is God’s grace. Children have great abilities to teach us about faith and God’s grace and love, for it comes to us a generous gift from God. The most important decision ever made for our lives was God’s decision to love us.
